The Queen of Steam, Norfolk and Western Class J #611, led Norfolk Southern Train 956 from Roanoke to Manassas via Lynchburg today in preparation for this weekend’s steam excursions on the B-line. Here’s a picture and video from Nokesville. Note the gondola cars carrying extra coal on the end of the train so that 611’s tender can be replenished.
