Norfolk and Western Class J number 611 headed south back to her home in Roanoke, Virginia after pulling excursion trains at the Strasburg Rail Road this May. I was working and missed her on the special coming down from Pennsylvania on Thursday, but set my alarm early today and saw the 611 in Shenandoah, Virginia as she was preparing for the last leg home. When I arrived, a freight train was heading south blocking the view of 611, but after it cleared I got a few photos.
