Norfolk and Western 611 Ferry Move

Yesterday evening, I took the girls to see the Norfolk and Western Class J #611 go by. It was towed by a diesel to conserve fuel over the ferry move from Strasburg Railroad to the North Carolina Transportation Museum, but was under steam. After the Reunion of Steam event with Norfolk and Western 475 at Strasburg, the 611 is heading to the NC Transportation Museum for more events next weekend. Here’s a video of the train from the Apple Mountain Exxon in Linden, Virginia.

NS train 060 is led by SD60E #6979 past the Linden “Apple Mountain” Exxon with the Norfolk and Western Class J #611 at milepost B44 on 10/29/2019.
